I can't believe I am going to say thins but here goes........I can't wait for winter! Don't get me wrong. I am glad not to be freezing and shoveling snow, but this HEAT!!!URRRG!!!!

The babies are still growing like weeds! Some of them have already found new homes. Please check out the Boer Goats and Pygmy Goats pages for updates and pictures! They sure are cute!

Most of the horses have already been to a few rides and are doing quite well. I have actually completed two 50 milers! I can remember saying, "I really have no desire to do a 50." Everyone told me I would change my mind.........they were right. I really wasn't sure I would want to do another one but.....anyway now my line is, "I really have no desire to do a 100."

Hi and welcome to KGW Farms!

Our names are Kristy and Guy Worthington and we live in the beautiful rolling hills of Northwestern Illinois. On the farm, we care for a great assortment of animals and engage in some fantastic activities.

First, we are involved in the sport of endurance riding. Guy has been competing for over 35 years and is currently working towards participating in the World Equestrian Games, in Kentucky in 2010! I, Kristy, am a relative new comer to endurance riding, although I have been crewing for Guy many years now. I plan to continue riding my Paso Fino as well as some of the Arabian horses we own. In addition, Guy is also a top-notch farrier. He specializes in endurance and performance horses as well as caring for the backyard pleasure horse. He also works with horses needing corrective shoeing/trimming, as well as founder and laminitis issues. In addition, both Kristy and Guy can help with your horse's nutritional needs. We also specialize in raising top quality registered Boer and Boer-cross goats for showing, breeding and meat. We also raise Pygmy and commercial meat goats. Additionally, we have started raising Nigerian Dwarf Goats. All of our miniature goats are registered with the NMGA. We also raise a variety of chicken breeds for layers, meat, gardening, and wonderful pets. We also raise Peacocks and Guineas. Please check out the Poultry page. We occasionally hatch new chicks and sell meat birds and layers, please contact us for availability.
